August Club Walk

As is usual for the club, we didn’t have a meeting at the Ockbrook Hall in August, but instead met up for a walk around Darley Abbey and Darley Park.

Given that this was in the middle of the main holiday season, this was a very well attended meeting and although the light wasn’t brilliant, it was at least dry and as always, the company was outstanding.

We started off by having a look at the award winning Hydrangea gardens which were in full bloom and absolutely outstanding. This is the largest hydrangea collection in Britain with over 400 different types. Certainly well worth a visit.

We then took a slow walk through the park and down to the river to take in some pictures of the weir and the light started to fade, giving the opportunity for longer exposure pictures. Finally, as the light level dropped, we were taking pictures of the old mill building over the river with the lights beginning to show.

An excellent walk and evening of photography.
