Salford Quay and Media City

Well as August drew to a close, a group of about 8 of us had a day out at Salford Quay and Media City in Manchester. A first visit for most of us and what an amazing place it is. The variety of architecture is amazing and the whole area is very pedestrian friendly.

Apart from the BBC and ITV studio’s located at the Media City part of the site, there is also the Lowry Centre, where we met for coffee at the start of the afternoon, and the Imperial War Museum North. The variety of views across the canal basins was just outstanding.

Having had something to eat at Nandos (a first for some of us) we set out again as the sun was setting and the whole area was gradually lit up. The change in the feel of the place was incredible and locations were re-visited to get completely different pictures.

The atmosphere throughout was friendly and welcoming and there was no hassle at all about a about a collection of folk humping kit and tripods around taking photographs anything that moved and everything that didn’t.

A great day out with some excellent company. We will do it again!

These are some of our pics.

Enjoyable set from Salford 📷👏 – quite envious as I couldn’t make the trip.
