Well what a way to finish the year. We were most privileged to enjoy an exclusive talk to OPC by renowned photographer Mark Littlejohn on the topic of ‘The Romance of Landscape Photography’.
Mark is undoubtedly one of the best landscape photographers in the UK and a winner of the UK Landscape Photographer of the Year as well as receiving numerous Judges Commendations in the awards.
His daily spiels are extremely popular with many photographers, even though they are more likely to be his reflections on life rather than detailed dialogue on photography.
This evening talk was, as expected, fascinating, entertaining, thought provoking and enthralling with a stunning selection of his images.
Having recently lived in the Lake District, and now back home in Scotland, he has superb opportunities for access to some wonderful countryside. But he doesn’t chase the popular view or jet off to exotic locations to create his images. Rather an early start and sometimes in some ‘interesting’ weather conditions, he looks for the light and how it can turn an otherwise good view into something outstanding.
A brilliant evening enjoyed by everyone. Thank you Mark, you are welcome anytime. Only question now is; How do we follow that?

Agreed – and yes how to follow that!
