We were fortunate to have Martine Hamilton Knight review a selection of our images. Each member was asked to submit 3 images for review, ideally images that had not been seen at the club before. The response was overwhelming, with many images submitted. Working with Martine, it was realised that in the time available for the Monday night session, that not all of the images could be covered, and these were reviewed to fit into the available time.
Martine Hamilton Knight DLitt(hon), FHEA, FRPS is a Senior Lecturer at Nottingham Trent University in the School of Art & Design and author of Photography for Architects. She has taught part time on the BA programme since 2018 and is a member of the university’s Design Research Centre.
As a professional architectural photographer and Fellow of the Royal Photographic Society, her area of specialism within the university encompasses a mixture of professional practice and technical delivery.
Martine worked through the selected images, by grouping them together in logical groups by subject, area of Interest, lens types etc. Each of the changed areas was accompanied by an online voting session to allow a deeper understanding of around the subject. Every image underwent a constructive review, during which photographers were permitted to provide comments on their own work. This was a very different experience to the competitive camera club judging and was very well received by the membership.
Here is a selection of the images from the night.
