A Portrait Photography Evening

In early June a few of our members attended a portrait evening at Studio 3 by Severn hosted by David and Pamela Severn.

Our model for the night was the brilliant Charlene Boam who not only worked tirelessly for the full session, but also was able to help six novice portrait photographers with angles and poses and, most importantly, helped us settle into the photography and feel comfortable working with her.

We took it in turns to take pictures so everyone had a fair share the time with Charlene and the studio equipment and we were all able to learn and develop on what others were doing.

Our first session was definitely inspired by Breakfast at Tiffanies and Charlene made a very acceptable Audrey Hepburn. We then had a couple more costume changes before we finished with a Rock Chick some 3 hours later.

At the end of the session, we all felt that we had known Charlene, and indeed David and Pamela, for ages. Lots of banter and lots of fun. An enjoyable and instructive evening with some great instruction and a brilliant and very professional model.

Thank you all.

These are a few of the pictures taken on the night.
