We started our 2023/24 season with a look at camera equipment and accessories in preparation for our planned practical meeting in October.

We looked at the benefits and limitations of such things as zoom lenses, macro lenses, extension tubes and magnification filters. We also had an open discussion on the pros and cons of different tripod heads, focus stacking techniques and the advantages and limitations of using telephoto lenses and cropping images.

There was lively discussion on all these points, with some useful information and sharing of techniques. The feedback from those attending was that it was an interesting and useful session.

We rounded the evening off with a look at your images on the theme of ‘The Summer of ’23’.
