For our first practical meeting of the new season, we welcomed Marlies Chell and her fantastic collection of exotic mini beasts.

We had six tables set up, each with it’s own unique creature and environment which had been expertly arranged by Marlies.

Throughout the evening, the insects were clearly settled and comfortable which made photography so much easier and even those members who were perhaps a little nervous around large insects, soon became at ease and enjoyed the experience of photographing such amazing creatures.

Plenty of help was at hand, both from Marlies and some of our more experienced members, for those who weren’t sure how best to set about this kind of photography.

We were organised so that everyone had plenty of time to photograph each of the six set-ups and we have seen some of the great pics that everyone managed to capture.

A super start to our season, with a well managed and sociable practical meeting.
