Summer Walks

As the lockdown finally started to ease and we were allowed to meet in small groups outside and socially distanced, we were finally able to implement a series of countryside walks. A massive thanks to Chris Caverley for organising them and to Dave Gilbert for some expert advice on good places to see wildlife.

So far we have enjoyed walks around Elvaston Castle nature reserve, Orchid Wood and Toton Fields nature reserve. Coming up, Chris is organising photographic walks around Calke Lime Yards and Hoe Grange Quarry.

These are great events and give members chance to meet up and take some wildlife images, usually with some expertise on hand to help, whilst at the same time staying appropriately distanced and staying safe. If you have the chance to join one of these walks, they are well worth the effort.

In the meantime, enjoy some of the images taken from the first three locations.
